Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta presented a delightful evening wine dinner with Chef Norman and Chef Gianfranco.

Rosso, the Italian restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta invited all culinary enthusiasts to savor an Indonesian-Italian wine dinner on Friday, 22 November 2019. Experience the combination of Indonesian and Italian cuisine, as a perfectly served five-course menu, is presented by well-known Indonesian chef, Norman Ismail, in collaboration with our Rosso Italian chef, Gianfranco Pirrone, as the duo teams up to provide a uniquely authentic dining experience. The series of delicious dishes will be paired with the finest selection of wines from Sababay Winery.

Chef Norman Ismail perfectly represents excellent quality and skill, displaying his hard work and experience. He is a well-known Indonesian culinary expert, restaurateur, television host, a cooking competition judge and can add many more gastronomic accolades to his list of achievements.

Every dish represents a mixture of locally sourced Indonesian and Italian ingredients, with
special traditional Indonesian cooking techniques and a variety of spices. Your feast will commence with an appetizer of Lawar Bali (Balinese Green Bean Salad with Chicken, Zucchini Ribbon, Roasted Tomato, Parmesan Tuile, and Crispy Coconut) paired with Sababay Ascaro dry bubbly white 2018 Pinot Grigio, Muscat Saint Vallier, Bali.

Rosso will also serve Keung Udeng (Aceh style Spicy and Sour Seafood Soups with fresh succulent Shrimp meat and creamy Basil pesto) and Soft Shell Crab Gulai Tagliolini (homemade Squid Ink Tagliolini, Gulai Foam, and deep-fried Soft Shell Crab), paired with Sababay Reserve White, 2017, Chardonnay, Muscat Saint Vallier, Bali.
